I Would Describe Myself As | I manage substantial financial resources, but I believe a meaningful connection should be built on more than just wealth. Are you interested in learning how to Tango? I'm experienced and can guide you through it. And when it comes to cooking, I'm skilled in French, Italian, Cajun, and of course, Texas BBQ. Want to take a guess on who kept the crew well-fed while building pipelines? Understanding what women desire should be obvious, shouldn't it? With my intellect and worldly experiences, I aim to appreciate all the wonders life has to offer with someone. Get ready for an exhilarating journey! I was raised on a vast ranch and spent some time as a PRCA cowboy. I even own a saddle and can put it on a horse blindfolded. I live well with all animals and people as I was raised in a large family and professionally, I have built just about every structure you see on earth. I try to have a nice life and would like someone to help me find forgotten corners of the world. I am the most interesting person I am told by my lifelong friends and my nephews call me the cool uncle. Ok what I would like for me, it's about figuring out what is important to me in a partner. It's not enough that someone cares about me and treats me well; I've had that in all of my relationships, but all of my past relationships have ended for various reasons. So, I look at what didn't work in the past and build off of that. Personally, I need someone who shares my core values. For *me*, it means things like: • Having strong communication skills and valuing open communication. I need someone who will tell me when they're upset and why and who wants and respects the same from me. • Values honesty. This goes hand in hand with strong communication skills, but honesty is incredibly important to me. It's so easy for couples to get into the habit of little white lies, because they don't want to upset a partner or because "it's not that important, so why make a thing about it." My feeling is that it's always better to be honest about things with each other, even if it's not fun in the moment. Lies have a way of building up resentment. • Cares about the larger world. Community service is important to me, and I need to be with someone who cares about other people, even when it doesn't directly impact them. I need someone who understands how important it is to try to make the world a better place. • Values a level of silliness in a relationship. Laughter is important to me, and I have realized that I fit best with someone with a strong silly streak and who enjoys having ridiculous little adventures sometimes. I do not fit well with someone who gets annoyed easily by playfulness. I think there's value in figuring out what kind of person you are, and what kinds of values, personality traits, etc. are important to you. Are you a very physically affectionate person? Then you're probably not looking for someone who doesn't like to be touched. Do you need a lot of personal space and alone time? Then you're probably not a good fit for someone who prefers to see their partner every day. I don't need my partner to be an avid reader just because I'm an avid reader, but I do need a partner who is passionate about *something* and wants to share that with me. I think of these things as the foundations upon which a relationship will be built. We need to have certain things in common in order to get beyond the infatuation stage and to ensure that we have some long term potential. If you don't know what you *want* from a relationship, how can you work towards any kind of future with someone? |
